The vehicle is fitted with two GAS DISCHARGE headlamps. The electronics in each of the two headlights switches the gas discharge bulbs on and off at the times defined by the software and in accordance with international legislation. The system for each headlamp comprises an igniter located at the base of the bulb and a ballast located in the lower part of the headlamp. Depending on the inputs, the control unit controls the relevant adjustment motor, located in the headlights, directly and tilts it as appropriate. For more details See descriptions 5540 EXTERIOR LIGHTING
The device is only enabled with the dipped beams on. The electronics for the two headlights receive an ignition-controlled power supply from a Body Computer fuse. |

The two electronics inside the headlights F010 (left) and F011 (right) are supplied - pin 6 - by the ignition-operated line (INT) protected by fuse F37 of the Body Computer M001. Pins 7 for the two lamps are connected to the diagnosis K line See E8010 DIAGNOSTIC MULTIPLE CONNECTOR The Body Computer M001 - connector A - receives a direct power supply from the battery through the line protected by maxi fuse F01 of the engine compartment junction unit B001. The Body Computer M001 receives an ignition-controlled power supply (INT) at pin 11 of connector E. Pin 9 of connector E of M001 provides the Body Computer with a reference earth. The Body Computer M001 controls the power supply for the dipped headlights when it receives an earth signal at pin 38 of connector D of M001; in this way it supplies the dipped headlights for F010 (left) and F011 (right ) at pin 1 with the lines protected by fuses F13 for the left lamp and F12 for the right lamp of M001. The headlight alignment correction function is incorporated in lamp F010: the two sensors (potentiometers) that measure the front alignment K001 and the rear alignment K002 are connected. The two sensors receive an ignition-operated supply (INT) from the line protected by fuse F37 of the Body Computer M001 and send a signal proportional to the load detected by pin 11 of F010 and F011. The electronics in each headlight adjusts the light beam automatically by means of a dedicated motor. |
