STEP

CHECK TO BE PERFORMED

REMEDIAL ACTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK

1

Amplifier input signals check

Switch the radio on and tune into a station with a stable signal that can be heard. With the Examiner in the voltmeter ambient, connect the probes at pins 1 and 2 of the subwoofer (subwoofer bass box audio input)

Select a 20V end of scale and 5 seconds on the Examiner, then press the start button

All the figures that appear should be evaluated with a tolerance of about 20%; the image should be similar to the one below

Restore the continuity/insulation of the wiring between the radio and subwoofer audio signals.

If the previous check has not detected faults and the audio signal was interrupted at the radio output, replace the radio

2

Earth check

Disconnect the subwoofer connector

Connect the ohmmeter between pin 5 and an earth and check that the resistance is less than 1 Ohm

Restore the correct earth connection.

3

Check the power supply for the subwoofer amplifier enablement

Turn the ignition key to the ON position

Switch the radio on

Connect between pin 4 of the subwoofer connector and earth and check that the voltage is around 12 Volt

Restore the continuity of the wiring between pin C10 of the radio and pin 4 of the subwoofer.

If the previous checks have not revealed any faults replace the subwoofer
