Refitting

- Place the vehicle on a lift.

1. Undo the nut (1a) and disconnect the connecting rod for the sensor for correcting the gas discharge light clusters (1b).

- Position a suitable hydraulic lift under the rear crossmember by the spring.

- Compress the spring using suitable equipment (a) of the type illustrated.

1. Disconnect the electrical connection for the rear right SCS actuator.

2. Undo the bolt securing the shock absorber to the suspension crossmember.

- Lower and remove the hydraulic lift.

1. Undo the bolts (1a) and remove the rear shock absorber (1b).

- Work in the same way for the left rear shock absorber.

1. Close the shock absorber (1a) upper bracket in a vice, using the tool (1b) and undo the nut and remove the shock absorber (1c).

Removing

- Place the upper bracket securing the shock absorber to the body in a vice.

- Place the shock absorber stem in position inside the bracket and fasten it tightening the nut to the recommended torque using the counter-torque tool used for the removal.

1. Fit the shock absorber assembly (1a) in place and tighten the bolts (1b) to the recommended torque.

It is necessary to take care not to mix up the shock absorber right upper bracket with the left one. With this in mind, the right upper bracket only has an opening (a) in the position illustrated.

- Position a suitable hydraulic lift under the rear crossmember by the spring.

1. Tighten the bolt securing the shock absorber to the suspension crossmember to the recommended torque.

2. Release the tool for compressing the spring.

3. Connect the electrical connection for the rear right SCS actuator.

- Connect the connecting rod for the front sensor for correcting the light clusters and tighten the nut.

- Lower and remove the hydraulic lift.

- Remove the vehicle from the lift.

    Op. 4450A40 REAR WHEEL GEOMETRY - CHECK USING OPTICAL EQUIPMENT, INCLUDES ADJUSTMENT IF NECESSARY
