DESCRIPTION

The Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), helps the driver maintain correct tyre pressure to ensure safe operation of the car.

When the pressure of a tyre is lower than the rated value the system emits an acoustic signal, switches on the "low tyre pressure" warning light and shows the pressure of the four tyres on the instrument panel display.

The system uses four tyre pressure sensors fitted as a replacement for the traditional tyre valve stems.

The pressure sensor is similar in appearance to a normal valve and contains a long life battery. The sensors transmit information about tyre pressure to the control unit with wireless technology.

The control unit which manages the tyre pressure monitoring system is controlled by an entirely dedicated module, which is under the rear right wheel arch.

It receives information directly from the sensors located on the wheels, and is connected via CAN with the other vehicle's nodes.

The control unit supply line is protected by a dedicated Body Computer fuse.
