Removing ( Refitting )

- Drain the LPG tank charge filler pipe, complying with the prescriptions and following the procedure

   Op. 1043A02 LPG SYSTEM LINES PIPE DRAINING OPERATIONS

- Return the vehicle to the workshop (in petrol operation mode) and place it on a lift.

- Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

    Op. 1043A13 LPG TANK COVER - R.R.

    Op. 1043A17 LPG INTAKE SOLENOID VALVE COIL - R.R.

1. Disconnect the electrical connection for the LPG level sensor and move the wiring aside.

2. Unscrew the connector for the filling pipe from filler to LPG tank, tank side.

- Mark the position of the filler pipe retaining bands from filler to LPG tank in the area under the spare wheel compartment.

1. Remove the rivet and the filling pipe from filler to LPG tank.

Refitting ( Removing )

- Measure the length of the two sections of the removed pipe, on tank and filler side.

- Obtain a new filling pipe from filler to LPG tank (diameter 8 mm).

- Cut two sections of pipe with the previously measured length.

1. Remove the protection sheath from the two ends, for about 50 mm, then fit the connector (1a) and the nose (1b).

1. Insert the filling pipe from filler to LPG tank into the tool, until the end of travel.

Nose locking for LPG pipe connector

 

1.4 16v TJet 120 HP

2. Screw the connector onto the tool to lock the nose on the filling pipe from filler to LPG tank.

- This operation must be made on the two ends of the new pipe, tank side.

For a correct locking of the nose, approach it manually then, with a suitable spanner, make a further 2-3 complete turns of the connector on the tool.

Check that the nose is 2 mm from the end of the filler pipe from filler to LPG tank.

- Work in the same way to connect a single end of the pipe section, filler side.

1. Fit the end of the filling pipe from filler to LPG tank, tank side, in the pipe bushing in the tank compartment, apply a drop of lubricating oil on the threading of the connector and tighten to the prescribed torque.

   

2. Connect the electrical connection for the LPG level sensor and move the wiring aside.

1. Manually shape the filling pipe from filler on the LPG tank, filler side, using the same references as the removed pipe and fit the upper end on the filler side.

Pay attention not to create obstructions in the pipe.

1. Engage the filling pipe from filler to LPG tank to the body, using a new collar riveted in the position shown in the figure.

- Working underneath the car, connect the lower end of the filler pipe from filler to LPG tank, tank side.

1. Join the two pipe connectors (1a) and (1b) with the new female connector (1c), manually tighten the first threads of the female connector and tighten to the prescribed torque of 1.5 daNm.

1. Engage the filling pipe from filler to LPG tank (1a) with the bands (1b) positioned as shown in the picture.

2. Protect the filling pipe from filler to LPG tank with a rubber cylinder, securing it with a clamp in the position shown in the figure.
