CHECK USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT

All OK

Problems encountered

Operation

Connect the Examiner diagnostic equipment and check the following data in CAN mode:

  • no "control unit inactive" signal

  • no "faulty control units" signal

  • no "faulty CAN line" signal

Check for faults in the parking sensor node

Move on to Step 2

1. Control unit inactive

2. Control unit error

3. Control units with CAN line error

1. Move on to Step 2

2. Continue as instructed by the diagnostic equipment

3. Repair any faults in the CAN line

See Test 5580HB PARKING SENSOR SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK

End of diagnosis

1. Sensor wiring defective

2. Sensor power supply interrupted

3. Sensors defective

4. Parking sensor control unit defective

1. Repair wiring.

2. Restore correct power supply.

3. Replace defective sensor.

4. Replace parking sensors control unit

Op. 5580H10 PARKING OBSTACLE DETECTION DEVICE ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT - R.R.

The system is activated with the key ON and reverse engaged. The Parking Sensor Node receives a reversing signal from the Body Computer Node via the CAN line.

The distance measurement only takes place when the system is activated, whilst only the control unit microcontroller is operational in the inactive state.

The ultrasound distance detection system for parking provides the driver with information on distance while approaching obstacles behind the car.

The information of the presence and distance of an obstacle is transmitted to the driver by means of acoustic warnings whose frequency depends on the distance of the obstacle.
