REMEDIAL ACTION IF THE CHECK IS NOT OK

 

1

 

Siren power supply check

Connect an Examiner in Voltmeter mode with the positive probe to pin 1 ( +30 ) and the negative earthed and read a direct voltage of approximately 12 Volt

   See E7015 ALARM

 

Restore the wiring between the Body Computer node and the siren control unit at pin 1.

   See E7015 ALARM

Replace fuse F39 in the dashboard control unit, having ascertained what caused it to blow

A-Bus serial line check

Disconnect the wiring connector for the siren and the Body Computer connector

Connect an Examiner in Ohmmeter mode. Check the continuity of the wiring between pin 2 of the siren connector and the Body Computer.

   See E7015 ALARM

Check the insulation of the earth line

   See E7015 ALARM

 

Restore wiring continuity

Restore wiring insulation

If the checks at points 1 and 2 give normal results

Replace the siren

   Op. 5580E40 ANTI-THEFT DEVICE SIREN - R+R

If the siren is OK, replace the Body Computer

   Op. 5505A35 MAIN BODY COMPUTER/JUNCTION UNIT - R.R.

Check the earth connection

Disconnect the wiring connector for the siren

Connect an Examiner in Ohmmeter mode between pin 3 and earth, and check that the resistance is less than 1 Ohm

 

Restore the correct earth connection (left front engine compartment)
