Refitting

Follow the recommended safety instructions (see 5040 - Introduction).    Op. 5040 AIR CONDITIONING CASING AND COMPONENTS

- Position the vehicle on a lift.

   Op. 1016A10 SOUND-PROOFING COVER - R.R

- Drain the coolant.

   Op. 0010T84 AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM REFRIGERANT - DEHYDRATING AND REPRESSURIZING

1. Undo the screw (1a) and disconnect the connector (1b) from the compressor (1c).

Seal the connectors that have been disconnected using suitable sealing plugs to prevent dampness and impurities from entering the system.

    Op. 7055B56 RIGHT SIDE UNDER-ENGINE PROTECTION/GUARD

1. Working on the alternator area, open the band (1a) and disconnect the pipe (1b) connecting the compressor to the condenser.

1. Working under the right side of the engine, disconnect the pipe (1b) from the compressor from the retaining band (1a).

1. From the right side of the engine radiator, press the tabs (1a) on the quick connector (1b), then disconnect the pipe (1c) from the compressor, first pushing it upwards and then pulling it downwards.

2. Disconnect the pipe retaining band.

3. Remove the pipe from the quick connector (from the condenser) to the compressor.

Removing

- Check that the pipe from the quick connector (condenser) to the compressor is not damaged and that there are no cracks that could compromise the seal.

Replace the O-rings on the connectors. Only use green coloured seals that are resistant to R134a coolant. Lubricate the connector threads using anti-freeze.

- Place the pipe from the quick connector (condenser) to compressor in position.

- Connect the pipe retaining bands.

- Connect the quick connector for the pipe and engage the retainers.

- Lower the vehicle.

1. Connect the connector (1a) to the compressor and tighten the screw (1b) to the prescribed torque.

- Repressurise the coolant.

- Remove the vehicle from the lift.

Refitting

- Position the vehicle on a lift.

- Drain the coolant.

1. Undo the screw (1a) and disconnect the connector (1b) from the compressor (1c).

2. Disconnect the pipe retaining band.

3. Remove the pipe from the quick connector (from the condenser) to the compressor.

Removing

- Check that the pipe from the quick connector (condenser) to the compressor is not damaged and that there are no cracks that could compromise the seal.

- Place the pipe from the quick connector (condenser) to compressor in position.

- Connect the pipe retaining bands.

- Connect the quick connector for the pipe and engage the retainers.

- Lower the vehicle.

1. Connect the connector (1a) to the compressor and tighten the screw (1b) to the prescribed torque.

- Repressurise the coolant.

- Remove the vehicle from the lift.
