Removing ( Refitting )

- Open the sliding roof to the end of travel.

1. Working on both sides of the vehicle, gradually lift the front side mouldings (1a) and release the inner retainers (1b) with the special tool.

1. With a saw make two cuts (1a) in the front roof section (1b), at a distance of approximately 35 mm + 35 mm from the front edge, as shown in the picture (in order to facilitate the subsequent cutting of the sealant areas (1c) fixing the front roof section).

2. Remove a central part (2a) of the front roof section.

1. Gradually lift the two remaining strips of the front roof section detaching them from the sealant (1a).

Do not damage or deform the sheet metal frame beneath or the windscreen.

Do not damage the weatherstrip (1b) on the upper side of the windscreen.

Refitting ( Removing )

1. Use an appropriate tool to remove as much sealant (1a) as possible from the front roof section compartment. Avoid scratching the paintwork.

2. Carefully clean the housing for the front roof section with compressed air

Degrease the new sealant application areas (2a) using heptane.

If necessary, retouch the paintwork.

1. Degrease the adhesive surfaces (1a) of the new front roof section using heptane.

1. Close the clear section of the sliding roof temporarily.

2. Place the front side mouldings in position and engage the retainers.

3. Using an air gun, apply two beads of sealant to the front roof section housing as evenly as possible.

1. Position the front roof section (1a) in its housing immediately after applying sealant and settle it into position. Comply with the dimensions shown in the picture.

The upper windscreen weatherstrip (1b) must rest on the front roof section (1a) as shown in the picture.

Do not move the vehicle for the time recommended by the sealant manufacturer.
