1. Extract the front lower edge of the backrest cover from the seat. 2. Lift up and backrest cover complete with upholstery and remove it from the frame. |

- If necessary, separate the backrest cover from the padding as described below. 1. Remove the backrest cover (1a) releasing it from the perimeter of the upholstery (1b). 2. Using cutters, cut the retaining rings (2a) connecting the backrest cover (1a) to the upholstery (1b). 3. Remove the backrest cover (1a) from the upholstery (1b). |

- Check that the backrest cover is not damaged. - Observe the following precautions.
- Check that the air bag backrest cover identification mark is on the same side as the side bag module. - If a new backrest cover is being fitted, position the labels as described below. - Remove the detachable part of the adhesive label from the new backrest cover. Place a copy of the label in a special folder containing the vehicle details (model, registration date, chassis number) and the serial number of the old backrest cover. The file should be kept for future checks. - Fit the original label on the lower part of the seat, where similar labels for the seat, side bag module and the air bag wiring can already be found. 1. If removed, place the backrest cover (1a) on the upholstery (1b) and fit the retaining rings (1c). 2. Fit the backrest cover (1a) attaching it to the perimeter of the upholstery (1b).

- Fit the backrest heater pad wiring in the opening in the frame. - Secure the electrical connection for the backrest heater pad. - Position the padding with the backrest cover on the backrest frame. - Fit the front lower edge of the backrest cover in place. |
