Removing ( Refitting )

- Position the vehicle on a lift.

1. Open the protective cover for the starter motor electrical connections.

2. Undo the nut.

3. Disconnect the electrical connections from the starter terminal.

- Lower the vehicle.

1. Undo the nut (1a) and disconnect the electrical connection (1b) from the positive battery pole terminal.

1. Remove the lead (1a) between the battery and the starter, releasing it from the retainers (1b).

Refitting ( Removing )

- Check that the lead is not damaged and that the conductors are correctly fastened to the connections.

If necessary, carry out continuity tests.

- Position the lead and engage the retainers.

1. Connect the electrical connection (1a) to the battery positive pole terminal and tighten the nut (1b).

- Raise the vehicle.

1. Connect the electrical connections (1a) to the starter terminal and tighten the nut (1b).

2. Close the protective cover for the starter motor electrical connections.

- Remove the vehicle from the lift.

- Check that the engine ignition and battery charger are working properly.

Removing ( Refitting )

- Position the vehicle on a lift.

- Open the bonnet.

1. Remove the cover (1a) for the positive battery terminal, releasing the retainers (1b).

1. Unscrew the nuts (1a) and disconnect the wiring (1b) from the positive battery terminal (1c).

2. Loosen the nut (2a) and disconnect the positive battery terminal (1c).

Refitting ( Removing )

- Check that the lead is not damaged and that the conductors are correctly fastened to the connections.

If necessary, carry out continuity tests.

1. Position the cable from battery to starter and alternator.

2. Connect the electrical connection (2a) to the alternator (2b) and tighten the nut (2c) to the prescribed torque.
