Refitting

Before removing and refitting the pretensioners, observe the specified safety regulations (see 7065 - Introduction).    Op. 7065 SEAT BELTS AND ACCESSORIES

   Op. 7040L40 FRONT DOOR RUNNING BOARD (ONE), LEFT OR RIGHT - R.R.

1. Undo the bolt (1a) and move the seat belt idler mounting (1b).

2. Release the intermediate retainer (2a) from the pillar, rotating it in the direction shown by arrow, then disconnect it from the seat belt.

1. Undo the pretensioner fixing bolt.

2. Disconnect the side sensor electrical connections.

3. Move the pretensioner (3a) by releasing the retainer (3b) from the pillar housing.

4. Detach the electrical connection for the pretensioner.

5. Retain the seat belt and pretensioner.

Removing

- Check that the seat belt with pretensioner is not damaged.

1. Connect the electrical connection for the pretensioner.

2. Place the pretensioner (2a) in position and engagethe retainer (2b) in its housing in the pillar.

3. Screw in the pretensioner retaining bolt and tighten to the recommended torque.

Do not use percussion screwdrivers.

4. Connect the electrical connection for the side sensor.

1. Engage the seat belt intermediate retainer, then engage it onto the pillar.

2. Position seat belt idler mounting (2a) and tighten screw (2b) to the prescribed torque.
