Refitting

- Position the vehicle on a lift.

- Drain the coolant.

   Op. 0010T84 AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM REFRIGERANT - DEHYDRATING AND REPRESSURIZING

1. Undo the screws (1a) and disconnect the connectors (1b) from the compressor inlet and outlet pipes (1c).

Seal the connectors that have been disconnected using suitable sealing plugs to prevent dampness and impurities from entering the system.

1. Working in the alternator area, press the two opposite tabs on the quick coupling (1a), then disconnect the pipe (1b) connecting the compressor to the expansion valve pushing it up and then pulling it down.

2. Remove the pipe (1b).

1. Open the clip (1a) and disconnect the pipe (1b) connecting the compressor to the condenser.

1. Working under the right side of the engine compartment, loosen the clip fastening screw (1a) and move the pipe (1b) connecting the compressor to the condenser.

1. Disconnect electrical connections (1a) and (1b) for the alternator.

2. Undo the alternator fixing bolts.

3. Remove the alternator.

Removing

- Check that the alternator is not damaged.

1. Position the alternator.

2. Screw in the alternator fixing screws and tighten them to the specified torque.

3. Connect the electrical connections for the alternator.

- Working under the right side of the engine compartment, position the pipe connecting the compressor to the condenser and fasten the clip retainer screw.

- Working in the area of the alternator, position the pipe connecting the compressor to the condenser and close the band.

Replace the O-rings on the connectors. Only use green coloured seals that are resistant to R134a coolant. Lubricate the connector threads using anti-freeze.

- Connect the quick coupling of the pipe connecting the compressor to the expansion valve.

1. Connect the pipe connectors (1a) to the compressor then fix them with the screws (1b), tightened to the prescribed torque.
