- Let the engine run with the air conditioning on for 10 - 15 minutes.

1. Depending on the vehicle engine type, remove/move any parts that hinder disconnecting the air conditioning system pipes from the station (1a) to the corresponding repressurizing valves (3a) and (4a) of the air conditioning system.

2. Undo the repressurizing valve caps.

3. Connect the high pressure connecting pipe (HIGH) to the corresponding quick coupling valve.

To fit the connectors (3b) on the quick connect valves, move the knurled ring nut (3c) upwards.

4. Connect the low pressure connecting pipe (LOW) to the corresponding quick coupling valve.

To improve safety the quick connectors for the equipment connecting pipes have different diameters: the low pressure side is larger, whilst the high pressure side is smaller.

- Start the procedure for draining the coolant fluid, following the instructions in the equipment manual.

1. Whilst draining the system the compressor fluid that comes out collects in a special container.

Oil is extremely hygroscopic: avoid leaving the containers open.

APPLIES TO VERSIONS WITH:

- Refill the system with exactly the same amount of fluid indicated on the container.

- If some of the components are being replaced, the following amount of fluid must be added for each of the replaced components:

- Pipes, 5 cm3/m

- Evaporator, 40 cm3,

- Condenser with built-in filter, 50 cm3.

- If there are accidental breaks that cause the rapid draining of the system (in less than 5 minutes), then the exact amount of fluid that comes out cannot be determined because the high pressure may cause seepage. Add the following prescribed amount of fluid: 50 cm3.

- Start the procedure for repressurizing the refrigerant fluid, following the instructions in the equipment manual.

- Add the prescribed quantity of coolant.

- In the case of damage to the compressor or other system components or following prolonged exposure of the pipes to the air (more than 6 hours) the WASHING procedure must be carried out as follows.

- Clean the pipes connected to the compressor using a jet of air.

Use filtered air to prevent the introduction of foreign bodies into the system.

- Connect the (drained) system to the repressurizing equipment.

- Introduce the prescribed quantity of coolant at the high pressure side.

- Collect the coolant on the low pressure side.

- Repeat the introduction and collection of fluid.

- Proceed with draining and repressurizing the system as illustrated previously.

If the system is WASHED the entire amount of compressor fluid in the system will be removed.

- Refill the system with the prescribed amount of oil.
