Check for a spark across the tips of spark gap SP-02 after making the appropriate connections via start up transition or by means of active diagnosis in CONTROL UNIT TEST mode. In the case of start up transition, the petrol supply pump must be interrupted so as not to damage the Lambda sensor or catalytic converter. |

IGNITION SIGNAL CHECK Make sure that the ignition key is in the OFF position Disconnect the negative battery terminal Disconnect fuse F21 for the 15 A pump in the engine compartment fuse junction unit Remove the HT coil from its housing Insert spark gap SP-02 n° 1806369000 between the HT output of the single coil and the engine block earth as shown in Fig. 1, using adaptor cable N° 3 Reconnect the battery Turn the ignition key to the starting position and check that there is a spark between the SP-02 spark gap probes. Repeat the same test on the other coils. Use the Examiner to check for and delete any errors |
Reset the single coil primary winding control circuit Replace the coil Op. 5510C14 IGNITION COIL/S - R.R. if the control signal on the coil primary winding is present If the control signal is interrupted: restore the continuity of the wiring between the engine control unit and the coil. If the control signal coming out of the control unit is interrupted, replace the engine management control unit |
