1000 A 000 AA LPG SUPPLY SYSTEM
LPG fuel quality – Network Information

INTRODUCTION

LPG is a fuel formed by a mixture of hydrocarbons, which has low pressure in liquid state. Passing from the gaseous state to the liquid one, the LPG volume can be reduced by about 250 times. Hence the advantage of storing it in liquid state. This type of storage requires a further compression of LPG.

The compressors used for this operation need a constant lubrication. Part of lubricant oil used for this operation will unavoidably mix in a solution with LPG and will be conveyed inside the vehicle supply system.

At the same time, a small quantity of deposits forms in the LPG after the operation of processing, transport, storage and distribution that will be conveyed inside the vehicle supply system during the standard LPG distribution stages.

Residues of oil and impurity can deposit in different parts of the LPG supply system of the vehicle, for example especially in the injectors; over time the same injectors might get fouled with resulting irregular behaviour of the vehicle.

To reduce fouling of LPG supply components, the company Petronas sells its product: "PETRONAS – Tutela Professional – GPL Clean code 23203110" (Fig. 1) which was developed in cooperation with LANDI (supplier of LPG systems).

The product has been developed in order to:

  • the injection system from deposits causing misfiring, bad operation at idle speed and power loss.
  • remove any condensate of moisture and deposits from the gas reservoir and from the pressure reduction unit, keeping them clean and efficient over time.
  • the regular combustion and cold starting, limiting maintenance operations and handling costs inside the LPG supply system.

The product must be used as follows:

QUANTITY

  • a 120-ml cylinder containing in total 50 l every 10,000 km to prevent build-up and deposit of residues preventing the standard operation of the LPG system.
  • two/three 120-ml cylinders (one for each complete refuelling) to be used for 2/3 consecutive total refuelling operations, to remove deposits and eliminate running problems due to LPG deposits.

If necessary, the prevention operation can be performed more frequently.

UTILISATION METHOD

  • Make sure that the engine is switched off and the reservoir is empty at least by 80% (reserve).
  • Firmly tighten the suitable patented universal adapter in the threaded centre hole of the filler (cutting the excess parts if required).
  • Connect the free end of the adapter to the bit of the valve for the GPL Clean product.
  • Keeping the cylinder overturned, fully press for about 30 seconds, so that the product has time enough to enter the gas reservoir.
  • Remove the adapter and refuel.

IMPORTANT

  • As already described, the product "PETRONAS – Tutela Professional – GPL Clean" was developed in co-operation with Petronas and Landi, specifically to remove/prevent the residues in the LPG and to check the compatibility with all the materials inside the LPG supply system, to prevent reactions that would prevent its operation.
  • The use of other products available on the market might not guarantee the same cleaning efficiency and cause faults to the LPG system, with result decay of the component guarantee.

PACKAGE

  • Spray bottle that can be ordered to Petronas, code 23203110
  • Content: 120 ml.
