LPG SUPPLY SYSTEM
LPG level reading – Network Information
|
|
The LPG level gauge is less precise than fuel gauges in vehicles provided with Diesel and Petrol traditional supply systems.
Unlike traditional fuels, like Diesel and Petrol, LPG is a gas which, once stored at the tank pressure, is liquid. Pressure inside the cylinder is variable, and depends on LPG quantity and temperature. When these parameters vary, ratio between liquid and gas will naturally change, causing inaccurate reading of LPG still in the cylinder.
If a Customer requires clarifications regarding operation of the LPG level gauge, please provide the following information:
-
The value provided by the LPG level indication LEDs should be regarded as an estimate of the remaining mileage. It might be useful to consider the km covered since the latest refuelling to evaluate the remaining mileage. With LPG supply, the fuel indication LEDs operate according to special logics, which do not allow a reading directly connected to the fuel level in the tank. Therefore they provide a reference indication of the remaining mileage, and should be regarded as an "estimate".
-
As a further consequence of the fuel level reading logic in the engine management control unit, it is advisable to always refill completely the tank, starting from a level close to reserve, in order to obtain a more precise reading.
-
Please remember that the LPG system is an alternative to the Petrol supply system, and that when LPG in the tank is over, the vehicle automatically switches to Petrol, allowing the customer to continue the journey with Petrol supply, or to stop at the nearest LPG filling station to refill.
