FAULT COMPLAINED OF

Click of the electric window during the closing stroke end of travel movement.

TECHNICAL CAUSE

Interference between the end of travel buffer and the head of the screw on the rear track.

OPERATIONS IN NETWORK

Network behaviour standards towards the Customer

• Once the customer's claimed fault is confirmed, reassure the Customer that the fault will be solved by restoring the buffer dimensions.
• After the operation, show the Customer what has been done and make sure he is satisfied.

Service Solution

Once the customer's claimed fault is confirmed, restore the buffer dimensions according to the Operating Cycle below.

OPERATION CYCLE

Working only on those cars showing the fault, proceed as follows:

• Turn the ignition key to the STOP position and extract it.
• Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
• Remove the electric window lifting control, with reference to Op. 7005M26 of the Service Manual.
• Working on bench, use a suitably sized cutter to resize the end of travel buffer (1 - Fig. 1), located on the rear track, removing the parts shown in detail (A). The final width of the buffer should correspond to the width of the housing, as shown.

Pay special attention to cut the edges of the buffer; if it is damaged, the whole mechanism needs replacing.

• Refit the electric window lifting mechanism, with reference to Op. 7005M26 of the Service Manual.
• Connect the negative battery terminal.
