FAULT COMPLAINED OF
Coolant leak from the connection point of the water pump outlet pipe from the housing on the crankcase.
TECHNICAL CAUSE
Incorrect sealing between the gasket lips and the housing on the crankcase.
OPERATIONS IN PRODUCTION
Assembly of the new pipe with modified seal housing and new seal.

OPERATIONS IN NETWORK
Network behaviour standards towards the Customer
- Once the Customer's claimed fault is confirmed, reassure the customer that the fault will be solved by replacing the water pump outlet pipe.
- After the operation, show the Customer what has been done and make sure he is satisfied.
Service Solution
Once the customer's claimed fault is confirmed, replace the water pump outlet pipe according to the Operating Cycle below.
OPERATION CYCLE
Position the vehicle on the lift
Remove the water pump outlet pipe with reference to Op. 1088D24 of the Service Manual.
Replace the water pump outlet pipe with a new one, having a modified housing, see detail A in Fig. 1, with new seals, taken from the Spare Parts Dpt.

Install the new water pump outlet pipe with reference to Op. 1088D24 of the Service Manual.

During refitting, replace: seals, sealants, oil seal rings, spring washers, safety plates, self-locking nuts, pretreated screws and shear bolts and - where necessary - top-up (without any change) levels of fluids and lubricants. |
