-Once the customer's claimed fault is confirmed, reassure the Customer that the fault will be solved by making a precise diagnosis and, if necessary, by reprogramming or replacing the air bag control unit.-After the operation, show the Customer what has been done and make sure he is satisfied.

Service Solution

Only for cars with chassis number before 1076354, if the claimed fault is confirmed, make an air bag code reading by Examiner and, depending on the detected codes, replace the air bag control unit or reprogramme it with the new software CD Flash 5.60.6 (or higher) available on Examiner Web, according to the Operating Cycle below.

OPERATION CYCLE

1. Read hardware (HW) and software (SW) codes of the air bag control unit, using the Examiner.

2. If the detected codes are:

-HW Number - A2C53284713 with SW Number – 6592870114

replace the air bag control unit with a new one, part no. 50518368 proceeding as described in Op. 5580C14 of the Service Manual.

3. If the detected codes are:

-HW Number - A2C53284713 with SW Number - 6592870111-HW Number - A2C53284713 with SW Number - 6592870113

using the Examiner with release 7.80.1 (or higher), reprogramme the air bag control unit using the CD FLASH 5.60.6 (or higher) available on the Examiner Web.

The vehicle battery must be in full charge conditions or supported by a battery charger/booster battery so as to ensure a rated voltage of 12 V, during reprogramming.
