FAULT COMPLAINED OFFormation of condensation in headlights/front fog lights. TECHNICAL CAUSEIn some conditions of use, slight condensation may appear inside the headlight/s and/or front fog lights. See example in Fig. 1. Fig. 1
OPERATIONS IN NETWORKOnce the claimed fault is found, inform the Customer that this is a natural physical phenomenon which occurs in particular conditions (heavy rain, storms) when the outside air is very humid and there is a temperature difference between the inside and the outside of the headlight. The headlight is provided with vents which ensure the necessary ventilation to dispose of condensation in excess on the top of the lens and in the cooler parts of the headlight. A certain time is therefore required to eliminate condensation through air circulation in the vents. The device can then be replaced only if the condensation removal does not normally occur within one hour of uninterrupted driving with dipped beam headlights on and, if possible, with high beam headlights occasionally on. In case of condensation in front fog lights, test the vehicle for about 15 minutes with front fog lights on, cover about 10 km at steady speed whenever feasible; if condensation is not removed during this time frame, replace them. |
