OPERATIONS IN NETWORK

The language change for the Blue&Me™ system can be carried out in the following ways:

1) through the language CD using the Examiner and a USB memory stick (see SN 55.21.06 for the 159 and Brera / Spider)

Or through the new method

2) using a USB memory stick downloading the update files from the internet.

The language change procedure using the new method is described below

It is possible to change the language through which Blue&Me communicates with the user and voice commands are received through this procedure; the vehicle control panel language is not altered.

Necessary equipment

Before starting, check that the following equipment is available:

-Personal Computer with Windows2000 / XP / Vista connected to the Internet-USB memory stick (minimum size 16 Mb) with certification from the Manufacturer of compatibility with Windows© 2000 and Windows© XP operating systems.

Language change procedure

-Remove any files present on the USB memory stick and access the Blue&Me portal on the official ALFA website (www.alfaromeo.com).-Copy the 3 language files that you intend to install on Blue&Me in the main directory on the memory stick. For example, if you wish to install French, copy the following 3 files onto the memory stick:

INSTALL.INF

SSFT040C.V2.ARMV4I.CAB

the INSTALL.INF file has the same name for all the languages but the contents for each language are different. Therefore never use the other language files

-Extract the memory stick from the PC after having deactivated it via Windows;-Get into the car;-Turn the key to ON;-Wait for about 10 seconds and insert the memory stick in the USB port;-Within 1 - 2 seconds the voice message "update launched" should be given (in the language currently present on Blue&Me) and the control panel display should show the message "update in progress" in the language activated on the actual control panel;-After about 30 - 35 seconds the download will be complete and the message "update over - extract the USB memory stick" will be given in the new language just downloaded and the message in the control panel display will say "USB update completed" in the language activated for the actual control panel (which may be different to that for the voice messages);-Extract the USB memory stick;-Turn the key to OFF, end of procedure.
