SOS function not working - Service Solution


FAULT COMPLAINED OF

SOS function not activated.

When the system is working and the SOS button is pressed:

- With the SOS service activated the telephone operator can be heard replying.

- With the SOS service not activated the instrument panel and the speakers display/give a function/service not available message.

TECHNICAL CAUSE

Certain applications for the Blue& Me Nav™ system have not been implemented.

OPERATIONS IN NETWORK

Network behaviour standards towards the Customer

-When this problem is reported and confirmed, reassure the Customer that it can be solved by reprogramming the Blue&Me Nav™ system control unit.-After the operation show the customer what has been done and make sure they are satisfied.

Service Solution

On cars from chassis 1000937 up to chassis n° 1002397 if this problem is reported, proceed with updating the Blue& Me Nav™ system software, as described in the Operating Cycle below.

OPERATION CYCLE

Necessary equipment

In order to be able to update the software, the following equipment is required:

-Personal Computer with Windows© 2000 / Windows© XP / Windows© VISTA.-Internet connection to website.-USB memory stick 1.1 or 2.0 with a capacity of at least 16MB with manufacturer''s certification of compatibility with Windows© 2000 / Windows© XP / Windows© VISTA operating systems.

The USB memory stick to be used for the update must NOT be the one that comes with the vehicle with the Blue&Me Nav™ (C3). The procedure for acquiring the software involves deleting all the files in the memory before loading the zip file required for the updating. The USB memory stick contains the files for the pre-loaded maps and thefore, if used, will be deleted.

Updating procedure

Download the file:

   Blue&me mito aggiornamento sos pw blue.zip-Unzip the file using the password "blue" in lower case on a USB memory stick.-At the end of the operation only the files illustrated in Fig. 1 should be on the memory stick:

    Get into the car:

    -Turn the ignition ON (The engine can remain off).-Switch on the radio;-Insert the USB memory stick into the housing;-The message "UPDATE LAUNCHED” should appear on the panel;-The radio should say “UPDATE LAUNCHED”;-Wait for about 1 minute;-The message "UPDATE ENDED” should appear on the panel;-The radio should say “UPDATE ENDED”-Switch the radio off;-Turn the ignition key to the OFF position and extract the USB memory stick.
