Deactivation procedure and description - Network Information


Description

On 1.4 16v Turbo Petrol 150/155 HP and 1.4 16v Turbo MultiAir versions at first and then on all other engines, cars shall be supplied with the new Performance Limit function that limits engine power and prevents the car from exceeding about 40 km/h.

This low power supply mode is activated by the factory and guarantees the possibility of being able to drive the vehicle without any adverse effects to safety during movement logistic stages.

If the Performance Limit mode is active, with the ignition key at MAR - ON, the EOBD/injection system warning light flashes and the engine management control unit shows error P1310, automatically reset after deactivating the strategy.

Furthermore, the deactivation is automatically removed after 100 km and after covering 200 km it cannot be reactivated.

On the first produced vehicles, the mode could not have been activated.

Performance limit function deactivation

The Performance Limit mode, after a suitable check, must be deactivated using the Examiner before the car is handed over to the final Customer.

Status check (with less than 100 km)

-Turn the key at MAR -ON (key-on) and check if the EOBD/injection system warning light is flashing and the error P1310 is shown in the engine management control unit.

Deactivation procedure

-Connect the Examiner instrument updated to Release 7.70.3 (or higher) to the EOBD socket of the vehicle and turn the ignition key at MAR-ON.-Select the "Control Units Test" function-Select "Alfa" brand-Select the "MiTo" model.-Select the engine type (e.g. 1.4 Turbo 16v)-Select the "Engine Management Control Unit" component-Select the "Active Diagnosis" function.-Select the "Configurations" function.-Select the "Performance Limit" function-Press the button "RUN".-Check that the Performance Limit Mode has been deactivated by checking the EOBD/injection system failure warning light (it should go off when the engine has been started).
