CONSTRUCTION SPECIFICATIONS

The Alfa Romeo MiTo is equipped with a braking system with the following features to meet standards of excellence:

- highly efficient

- excellent modulation properties

- safe in all conditions.

The car is also fitted with the most sophisticated auxiliary electronic and mechanical systems:

- ABS (Anti-lock Braking System): anti-lock braking system;

- EBD (Electronic Brake force Distribution): electronic brakeforce distribution between the front and rear wheels;

- VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) advanced electronic stability program called AHS (Absolute Handling System) which includes the new DST and TTC functions;

- Hill Holder (with ESP): an automatic function which allows stopping and setting off on a hill without the help of the handbrake;

- HBA (Hydraulic Brake Assistant) system: electro-hydraulic braking assistance which automatically increases the pressure in the braking circuit during emergency braking (with ESP);

- MBA (Mechanical Brake Assist) from 11/2010

The braking system is power assisted hydraulic type, comprising two crossover, independent circuits (each circuit acting on one front wheel and the diagonally opposite rear wheel) to ensure braking and stability even if one of the circuits fails.

All versions are fitted with a 10" brake servo and are equipped with:

- self-ventilating brake discs on the front wheels

- solid brake discs on the rear wheels

- ABS with EBD

- VDC.
