The Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), helps the driver maintain correct tyre pressure to ensure safe operation of the car. When the pressure of a tyre is lower than the rated value the system emits an acoustic signal, switches on the "low tyre pressure" warning light and shows the pressure of the four tyres on the instrument panel display. The system uses four tyre pressure sensors fitted as a replacement for the traditional tyre valve stems. The pressure sensor is similar in appearance to a normal valve and contains a long life battery. The sensors transmit information about tyre pressure to the control unit with wireless technology. The control unit which manages the tyre pressure monitoring system is controlled by an entirely dedicated module, which is under the rear right wheel arch. It receives information directly from the sensors located on the wheels, and is connected via CAN with the other vehicle's nodes. For more details: See descriptions 4450 HUBS AND WHEELS The control unit supply line is protected by a dedicated Body Computer fuse. |

Control unit M047 is supplied at pin 1 directly from the battery from a line protected by fuse F36 of Body Computer M001. The control unit is earthed at pin 2. The CAN line connected to the Body Computer M001 leaves from pins 3 and 4 of M047. The Body Computer M001 - connector A - receives a direct power supply from the battery through the line protected by maxi fuse F01 of the engine compartment junction unit B001. The Body Computer M001 receives an ignition-operated power supply (INT) at pin 11 of connector E. Pin 9 of connector E of M001 provides the Body Computer with a reference earth. The four tyre pressure sensors fitted on the wheels send a wireless radio-frequency signal to the aerials located inside control unit M047. |
