The alarm system offers anti-intrusion protection: volumetric, perimeter, anti-tilt and surveillance of supply cable cutting. System operation is co-ordinated by the Body Computer, wihch sends/receives commands from external modules via the special serial line. The system is switched on/off by the remote control interfaced with a receiver in the Body Computer: the remote control and receiver are radiofrequency.
The volumetric and anti-tilt protection can be excluded by operating a button near the front courtesy light. Every break in attempt is signalled by the code warning light in the instrument panel coming on together with a message in the display. The control unit is equipped with a self-diagnostic function which detects and memorises faults and problems in the control unit and system components; in addition, it checks the condition of the connecting cables and saves the number of activations and times the alarm has been operated. The control unit operating logic can be modified in order to satisfy the legal requirements which govern the use of alarm systems in the various markets. For more details See descriptions 5580E ANTI-THEFT DEVICE The alarm siren is located at the front, on the right of the engine compartment. The door lock system switches are used to monitor the doors and boot. A special separate switch detects bonnet closure. The volumetric sensors check that there are no intrusions in the vehicle. They are located in the front courtesy light: they consist of a transmitter and a receiver: the wave transmitted by one transmitter must reach the receiver of the other sensor and vice versa: otherwise an alarm signal is sent to the control unit. The anti-tilt sensor, is located in the front courtesy light; it detects the slightest variation in the angle of the vehicle in relation to either the longitudinal axis or the vertical axis. By pressing the special button next to the sensors, both sensors can be switched on/off simultaneously; with the sensors excluded an LED next to the button comes on. |

The alarm system is managed by the alarm control unit incorporated in the Body Computer M1, which is supplied - connector A - directly by the battery by the line protected by maxifuse F01 of the engine compartment junction unit B001. The Body Computer M001 receives an ignition-controlled power supply (INT) at pin 11 of connector E. Pin 9 of connector E of M001 provides the Body Computer with a reference earth. The Body Computer M1 receives "door open" input signals at pins 54 and 53 of connector B; they are the same signals that turn on the timed lights See E2510 COURTESY LIGHTS The on/off signals arrive from the aerial-receiver of remote control P093, which are connected to pins 31 and 46 of connector F of M001. The bonnet is controlled by switch I10 which is connected to pin 48 of connector B of M1. The boot opening switch located in the lock N57 sends an earth signal to the Body Computer M1 - pin 39 of connector F. The siren P90 receives a power supply from the Body Computer M1, from pin 12 of connector C - via the line protected by fuse F36 - and is connected through the dedicated serial line to pin 56 of connector B. The unit that incorporates the volumetric and anti-tilt sensors K62 is supplied by the Body Computer M1 from pin 12 of connector C via the line protected by fuse F36 and is connected through the dedicated serial line to pin 48 of connector F. The unit also receives a power supply from the ignition-controlled line (INT) protected by fuse F49 M1; the unit contains a button for excluding the two volumetric and anti-tilt control functions; the LED next to the button comes on if they are excluded. |
